Good Morning McCully Family!

ABC’S “EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION” AND WOODHAVEN HOMES, INC. FULFILL WISHES OF THE MCCULLY FAMILY

BIGELOW, ARKANSAS (August 14th, 2008) - Woodhaven Homes, Inc. and its building partners today join ABC-TV’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” to give a deserving local family their dream home.

This morning, the lives of the McCully Family, who live in Bigelow, AR, were forever changed when they heard “Extreme Makeover” team leader Ty Pennington’s famous “good morning” wake-up call. Pennington, along with the other designers from “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”, surprised the unsuspecting family with news that their home has been chosen to receive an “extreme” makeover.

Each episode of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” features a race against time involving a team of designers, contractors, and several hundred workers and volunteers who have just seven days to totally tear down and rebuild an entire house for a deserving family.

The McCully Family was selected to receive an “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” from thousands of applicants, because this family has experienced tragedy and hardship through the medical needs of their son, while still making time to give back to their community.

In just seven days, Ty Pennington and the designers of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” and Woodhaven Homes, Inc. will be rebuilding the family’s home, creating a safe and healthy environment for the McCully Family’s son, Job.

At only 10 years old, Job McCully is an inspiration to his small town, surviving leukemia, a bone marrow and a double lung transplant. After years spent in and out of the hospital, he is still far from healthy. In March of 2008, he was finally able to leave the hospital, but for Job’s health, the family could not return to their sinking, moldy and dilapidated home. Their very old house has leaks in the roof, the air conditioner and the floor. The mildew-infested walls are especially threatening to Job and in 2006, fungus was discovered on Job’s lungs, which inspectors suspect likely came from their home. The family packed up and moved out of their uninhabitable house.

Although he has endured painful side effects from all the treatments he has received, Job still manages to smile and treat others with generosity. With all that this family has been through, they never hesitate to help those in need. His sister Nicole, at only 12 years old, learned to administer shots to her brother for the diabetes he developed from his treatments. Rob is a deacon at the church, and Tina has spear headed two successful support groups in her church for struggling young married couples and addicts. The family is currently living in a donated rental, but still struggling to pay for their mortgage. It is now up to Ty and his designers to bring the McCully family back to a place Job and his family can really call home.

While Ty and the designers, local builder Woodhaven Homes and hundreds of volunteers and workers are rebuilding their home, the McCully family will go on vacation to Fess Parker’s Doubletree in Santa Barbara.

Out of dozens of Central Arkansas home builders, ABC selected Woodhaven Homes, Inc. to help this very deserving family get the home of their dreams.

“Our team at Woodhaven Homes is ready to build a wonderful home for the McCully family,” said Jack Wilson, President of Woodhaven Homes. “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” has such a strong and loyal following in the Central Arkansas area, and the trade professionals and sub-contractors stepped up to participate in the project and take on the challenge of building a home in just a week and really make a difference in this family’s life.”

“Once I heard about the McCully family and how they have coped with the difficult medical problems their son has and how they have still been able to give back to their community, we were sold on the project,” said Wilson. “The McCully’s story makes us at Woodhaven Homes want to give back to the community just as this family has for so many years.”

The Woodhaven Homes, Inc. builder team, the media, and any others interested in helping and supporting the project are invited to the site at or around 12:30 today when the Woodhaven Homes builder team will meet the family for the first time at the home site. Wilson will be available for comment at 4:00pm. Please visit the project’s website www.thehousejackbuilt.com/extreme for a tentative job site schedule.

Media Notes:

The media is welcome on site for the duration of the McCully family build. Keep in mind, however, that this is a very busy construction site and closed set. Media alerts will be distributed and will be available at the project’s website www.thehousejackbuilt.com/extreme. Press ID is required at site check-in and advanced scheduling is highly recommended. It is mandatory that all workers, volunteers, and media wear closed-toe shoes, and for a list of other frequently asked questions, see the project website.

Knowing Jack Wilson in his role as a builder and friend I can only say that the people at Extreme Home Makeover could not have made a more perfect choice for this endeavor. He exemplifies what is good in people by his words and actions. He is kind, caring and an all around wonderful person. Congrats to “EHM” for getting it so right!

God Bless ABC and all of the volunteers who have signed on to help the McCully family. I used to work with Rob and have to say that he is an inspiration to me. Everything that this family has been through, I couldn’t possibly think of a more deserving family. I know how incredibly difficult, out of the thousands of requests made, it was to choose the McCully’s. I think that this will make our area even closer than we already are.

Ty and the whole EMHE production team, my personal thanks for all the good work you do for deserving families. I don’t know the McCully Family personally but have followed Job and his family on the Caringbridge website for a long time. The whole family has so much faith and are very deserving of the new home. I know they will be very happy when they return from their vacation and hear Ty and all the people say, “Move That Bus.”

What an answer to pray for this family. I personally met Job and his wonderful family when they were in Houston a few years ago while he was here for treatment at MD Anderson. I could not believe the courage this little boy exhibited at such a tender age. Job is blessed to have wonderful Godly parents and a sister that is truly awe inspiring as well. Thank you ABC and the EMHE team for what you are doing…you are truly God’s Angels here on earth. This show is what AMERICA is really about!

My husband and I just watched Extreme Makeover for the first time tonight, and the story we caught was about this little boy, Job. We were deeply blessed by the example of compassion demonstrated by a television show, a community and many unselfish professionals. We believe this story about Job amplifies the love of God. God was given the praise and the glory because so many were reached out to through this child and this story. God has demonstrated his power through grace through demonstrating His ability to keep Job and to hold him up in this mightly this way. We are very blessed and thank EMO for the mission of good will they are doing and for putting something on television that people not only can take pride in, but feel inspired to become better citizens and neighbors in their own communities. Humbly, we thank you for your production of this episode. We will continue to following your shows in the future. You touched us in a special way this evening. Thank you.
